Tend to Your Weeds with Patience

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

One of the best lessons I learned early in my life is to “tend to your own business first”.

Sounds easy but it takes a bit of self-control and patience. So, when you want to fix something start with your own stuff first… like weeds, our flaws surface naturally and will appear just as naturally as our “pretty pieces”.

To some it may be a weed and to others a flower. Often, we must examine closely, because left untended, they will return again and again until addressed – root deep.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.

-John Muir
